Build Open was founded by Jason Grout, co-creator of JupyterLab, an ipywidgets maintainer, and a longtime Jupyter contributor and community leader. He has served on the Project Jupyter Steering Council, Executive Council, Jupyter Foundation Governing Board, and in many other community leadership roles.

Jason started Build Open to help organizations effectively engage with, contribute to, and build upon the open-source Jupyter ecosystem.
